Any time the words “alcohol” and “delivery” appear in the same sentence, you’ve got our attention.
After all, there’s only one thing that competes with delivered alcohol (delivered pizza, obviously). But imagine the next time you’re at a party and the booze supply runs out before the party is close to being over.
Typically, you’re screwed. You have to tell everyone to go home, essentially admitting how awful of a party host you are. But instead of the fiasco that would usually ensue, let’s assume you’ve already downloaded the MiniBar app.
Nevermind the broken toilet or the guy passed out on your couch wearing a lamp shade, you need beer. A lot of it. But since you downloaded MiniBar immediately after reading this post, all you need to do is take out your smartphone, tap a few buttons, and booze arrives at your door in less than 60 minutes.
Thanks to MiniBar, you’ve just saved the party.
How does it work?
In over 18 major cities across the country, Minibar makes any alcohol-shortage crisis too easy to solve.
After downloading the app for free and confirming you are indeed 21, you enter the address that is in dire need of beer, wine, or spirits. The Minibar app then pulls up the closest liquor store, where you have access to that entire store’s inventory at your fingertips.
The app’s interface is incredibly simple, giving you options titled “Wine,” “Liquor,” “Beer,” “Cider,” “Mixers” and “Book A Bartender.”
The most time-consuming part of the process, honestly, was making a decision from the vast amount of choices. We barely even got to the wine and liquor sections, because scrolling through the craft beer section was plenty.
From canned domestics to what seemed like every seasonal Goose Island has ever made, Minibar is basically a beer fridge on your iPhone.
Yeah, that’s it. A beer fridge on your iPhone.
All the prices are direct from the store, as the app will remind you
with the “FAST DELIVERY, NO MARKUPS” banner on the top of the page.
Once you place the order, alcoholic beverages will arrive in an hour or less.
When we ordered from the Minibar app on Tuesday afternoon, we got our six-pack(s) in just 35 minutes. We’re not exaggerating. Look at the photo above for proof, or maybe just start trusting us more.
The delivery fee is only $5, which is pretty reasonable when you consider the cost of ruining a party.
