On Monday, 3,300 approved patients across the state can start purchasing medical marijuana.
If you’re one of them, this post will show you where to buy weed in Illinois. But before we show you that, let’s break down the context behind this momentous occasion.
“The Land of Lincoln” is one of 23 states with medical marijuana programs. According to the Illinois Department of Health, nearly 1,200 physicians submitted patient certifications, including one doctor who wrote certifications for 998 patients.
Of the 3,300 patients, we estimate that roughly 3,273 of them will begin exercising their rights to get lit tomorrow.
The eight licensed dispensaries are located in Marion, Mundelein, Canton, Quincy, North Aurora, Schaumburg, and Ottawa. Regardless, here’s how those patients break down by Illinois county:
Cook County: 1,180
Will County: 193
DuPage County: 186
Lake County: 173
Kane County: 115
According to ABC7 Chicago, the number of distilleries will grow quickly. By the end of the month, the state will have a dozen dispensaries. By the end of the year, that number will reach 25.
The dispensaries that open on Monday are included below. We’ve listed them as they appear from top-to-bottom in the map above. If we’re feeling nice, we’ll keep adding locations as new dispensaries open.
We’ve included a map of all these locations, as well as their addresses. So yeah, you’re welcome.
