Here’s something that will certainly brighten your day: today is Guinness National Raise Your Glass Day. Not to mention, February is almost over.

If you haven’t already marked it down in your calendars, or you’re just unaware of cool things happening, then let me explain. Guinness National Raise Your Glass Day is a fundraising initiative organized by the Irish beer giant to show appreciation for firefighters and all their sacrifice.

To participate, it’s pretty simple. You just have to drink and then post something on social media, which I know 90 percent of you do already. All you have to do is post a photo on either Twitter (@GuinnessUS) or Facebook (Guinness US) of your Guinness pint.

(SIDENOTE: There’s a good chance we have to include something about being 21 or older to participate. So…yah, you have to be 21 or older to participate.)

For every photo posted, Guinness will donate $1 towards its fundraising goal. Also, up until March 17th, limited-edition, firefighter inspired t-shirts are available at for a $20 donation. If that didn’t do it for you, one of them was designed in collaboration with Brad Paisley.

We think this initiative is pretty damn cool. I mean, it’s beer and social media – basically two of our favorite things. And, get this, Guinness is promoting a responsible way to indulge in them both.

And yes, health nuts of the world, Guinness beer is good for you.

We raised our glasses, will you?
