The original plan was to put together a ‘must-attend’ Chicago concerts list for the rest of 2015 – but then we realized it might make a little more sense to slow our roll and go one month at a time.

After all, the list of shows for October’s last two weekends was reason enough to, you know, start this post with nine days left in the month.

Happy Halloween.

It’s already been a big month for Chicago concerts – Jamie xx, Duke Dumont, Disclosure, and Kaskade all in the last two weeks – so it’s only right that October is going out with a bang.

More or less, the list consists of the shows we’re going to and the ones we would go to if conflicts and financial restrictions didn’t exist.

CHRVCHES, 10/24 @ Metro

The Scottish threesome, who are the very definition of electropop, were a hit at Lollapalooza last summer and just released their second album last month.

If you enjoy quality vocals mixed with catchy synth beats, then you’ll have a goddamn blast at CHVRCHES on Saturday night.

Kendrick Lamar + Future + Meek Mill, 10/25 @ United Center

You don’t have to tell us much more than the two words ‘Kendrick Lamar,’ but Future and Meek Mill join a big supporting cast that also includes Vic Mensa at WGCI’s annual Big Jam on Sunday.

A normal Kendrick Lamar concert is the better bet if you haven’t seen him live before, but it’s is a chance to see Kendrick for a reasonable price and he’ll be sure to highlight most of his masterful third albumTo Pimp A Butterfly.

Zedd & Dillon Francis, 10/29 @ UIC Pavilion

Zedd and Dillon Francis

Zedd and Dillon Francis like to clown

Hopefully, you’ve entered our giveaway earlier this week for free tickets to the Chicago stop of Zedd’s True Colors tour – which has included a certain Mr. Dillon Francis for a large part of it.

It’s not often you see two EDM giants performing in the same arena, and the UIC Pavilion will be an ideal atmosphere for the duo’s performance.

Not to mention, it’s on the best night of Halloween weekend to see a show: Thursday.

Freaky Deaky, 10/30 – 11/1 @ Toyota Park

If you’re up for getting back into the 3-day-festival grind and

Chicago Concerts

figuring out transportation logistics to Bridgeview, you’ll definitely be rewarded with an insane lineup at the “Midwest Halloween Massive.”

The headliners – from Bassnectar to 2 Chainz to Big Gigantic to Pretty Lights – are undoubtedly impressive.

But when you see names like Audien, Griz, Joey Bada$$, Benny Benassi, Vic Mensa and AlunaGeorge as second tier acts – then you know a festival’s lineup is ridiculous.

Get tickets (3-day passes still available) on the Freaky Deaky website.
