In 2014, Lorde took over the Grammy’s when her hit single, “Royals,” won Song of the Year.
A few months later, Flume released his remix of a different Lorde song – “Tennis Courts.” In case you were wondering, the remix now has over 22 million listens on Soundcloud.
At this year’s Grammy’s in early February, Sam Smith swept the applause by taking awards for Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. A few hours ago, Flume released his remix of a different Sam Smith song – “Lay Me Down.”
Perhaps the OWSLA prodigy just has an infatuation for remixing Grammy winners. Or perhaps he’s just the first one bold enough to do so on a regular basis. But we have to say, we dig it.
His performance at Lollapalooza last year was sick.
His breakthrough remix of “You & Me” by Disclosure? Also sick.
But this brand-new, bass-twisting Sam Smith remix might just trump them all.
From New Zealand to England, this groundbreaking artist has developed dime after dime since exploding onto the scene. Despite the fact that he’s reconfiguring music made by some of the world’s top musicians, everything Flume creates is authentic gold.
We are not worthy.
