Boom goes the dynamite. Jack Ü and Spring Awakening – two of our favorite things – are officially joining forces.

We say “officially” because in our ongoing Lollapalooza speculation we noted there was a leak about Jack Ü being the ‘unannounced surprise headliner.’ Spring Awakening teased an additional artist when they released their stacked 2015 lineup a month ago today.

And I guess Jack Ü all but confirmed it in their own brilliant way when they released their debut album in surprise fashion last Friday. Now that it’s official, it almost makes too much sense.

Of course, this means the dynamic duo of Diplo and Skrillex won’t be at Lollapalooza. But it means they’ll be at Soldier Field in July – joining EDM giants Zedd, Eric Prydz, Hardwell, Tiesto and Afrojack in a ridiculous group of headliners. With Diplo already slotted to perform Saturday night, we can only assume the Jack Ü performance will occur immediately after.

The announcement also confirms that Chicago will be the first Midwestern city to see Jack Ü live because Chicago is cool that way. This will be the second Spring Awakening appearance for both artists, with Skrillex performing in 2012 and Diplo last summer.

Jack Ü and Spring Awakening…it only feels right.
