Just 21 minutes ago, Nero released their first glimpse of new music in almost a year.

After releasing their first studio album in 2011, the trio (Daniel Stephens, Joseph Ray and Alana Watson) went on to produce a Grammy-winning track with Skrillex in 2012. But since Welcome Reality, these electronic legends from London have only given us hints of their bass-twisting greatness while teasing a second studio album in the process.

After releasing “Satisfy” just over a year ago, Nero has returned from the dark side once again.

So, we introduce you to “The Thrill.” And while we’d love to sit here and dick on a band that has teased and teased about the actual release date of their new album, we simply cannot state anything but satisfaction for this brand-new track.

Most artists can’t go into hiding from their fans and leave them in the dust for as long as a year at a time. But when you exceed the production value of those before you, as Nero has done so many times before, I guess you can get away with it.

With a surreal 80’s-style intro, the trio’s quintessential drum & bass backdrop, and extremely powerful female vocals – this new release gives us just about everything we could ever want from Nero. But until they do release their second (untitled) studio album, true Nero fans simply won’t be completely satisfied.

But for now, “The Thrill” will certainly do. Listen to it below, and click here to follow Nero on Soundcloud. If you don’t, we’ll find you and beat you up.

Just like Liam Neeson.
