There’s a definitive difference between trying to rank our Top 25 EDM Original Tracks compared to ranking our Top 15 EDM Remixes. The reason?

While original tracks require an artist to draw inspiration out of thin air, remixed tracks provide an artist with the ability to draw inspiration from the original track itself. But of course, most of the musically driven inspiration stems from the real life experiences of the artists we know and love. They approach music production much like a painter approaches a canvas.

Art doesn’t make the artist, the artist makes the art. What does that mean exactly? It means that in electronic music, it’s as difficult (for a musician) to garner attention for producing a successful remix as it is for producing an original track.

Eat those apples while you listen to our Top 15 EDM Remixes of 2014.
