The NBA on Christmas Day is a tradition unlike any other. There’s truly nothing like ripping open presents and then immediately hitting up a day’s worth of the best athletes on the planet.
So you can understand my excitement when the 2015 NBA Christmas Day jerseys were released by Adidas today. They’re beyond dope.
Especially after last year’s atrocious experiment with sleeved jerseys that looked like they came straight from a church league of 50-year-olds. Not to mention, the absolute ridiculousness that was putting player’s nicknames on the backs of their jerseys.
No, the NBA has decided to step its game up this holiday season with some old school threads. You can bet I’ll be purchasing one of these bad boys.
Adidas had this to say about the new digs:
Designed as part of the adidas NBA Season’s Greetings Collection, the uniforms continue the tradition of introducing new and unique elements each season. This year’s uniforms incorporate primary team colors and cream tones, while player names and numbers are showcased in holiday-style script and detailed with woven rows of stitching. A scarlet NBA seal is also displayed on the back of the jersey as a nod to holiday greeting cards.
The socks, Stance’s contribution to the on-court Christmas Day look, mirror the uniform’s design and feature classic holiday colors, winter-inspired imagery and pay homage to holiday sweaters.
If you missed it, here’s the 2015 Christmas Day Schedule:
