Making a ‘top plays of 2015’ list is a lot like trying to name your favorite movies of all time.

It’s really goddamn hard.

Especially because you have to be specific about it. Saying “best” doesn’t really do much because nobody actually knows what that means when talking about a single sports play.

Does best play mean most athletically impressive/visually appealing play? Does it mean the one that meant the most and also had clear displays of someone being really good at something? Or is it some unspecified percentage of each? Why are we talking about math?

Yeah, nobody really knows.

So, in an attempt to minimize the gray area, we’re going with “most entertaining plays of 2015.” You know, the plays that make you feel smart when you show them to somebody who hasn’t seen it yet. The plays you watch way too many times in a row and somehow still feel productive – or in big boy words, they’re insatiably entertaining.

As anyone who is familiar with the genius of Gus Johnson knows, good announcing always helps. And obviously, a bigger stage does too.

Those two things definitely factored into our top plays of 2015 list, which is 96% guaranteed to make any trip on public transportation more interesting.

DISCLAIMER: WE CANNOT SHOW ANY NFL HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS YEAR BECAUSE THE NFL IS A GREEDY DICTATORSHIP THAT DOES NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO PLAY THEIR VIDEO CLIPS WITHOUT THEM MAKING ALL THE MONEY OFF OF IT. GIVE THEM ALL OF YOUR MONEY OR PERISH IN HELL.
