I love a good Wikipedia alteration, especially one that is so cunning that it goes largely unnoticed. That’s what happened to San Francisco 49ers general manager, Trent Baalke.
So here’s the story. I was watching Monday Night Countdown last night and the panel was talking about the woeful 49ers and how utterly terrible they have been on the heels of their disastrous offseason.
I wanted to do a little back research and see what year Trent Baalke took over as GM so I can cross reference with his history of draft picks. Seems simple, right? So I did a quick Google search of his name, and naturally, a blurb from his Wiki page popped up on the right.
I figured the info I needed would be right there, so I read it.
This is what I found:
Big, if true. Because this is really another level of nepotism if York and Baalke go all the way back to clown school together. Everyone knows the relationships formed there are literally unbreakable.
On the other hand, this is some elite level trolling on behalf of some disgruntled 49ers fan, because there’s no one in the country who just casually is like, “oh yeah, let’s fuck with Trent Baalke’s Wikipedia page.”
Even though the 49ers suck at least their fans have some good creativity. That’s something you can hang your hat on.
P.S. It still hasn’t been changed.
